Business Development Certification Requirements
The following requirements apply to BDA® professional certifications. These are the core eligibility criteria any candidate must meet before applying for a BDA® certification.
Professional Experience
Minimum 1 Year Required
All BDA® certifications require professional experience in business development, sales, partnerships, growth, or a related field. The required level of experience varies by certification level — from 1 year for the foundational BDA-CP® to 5+ years at senior level for the BDA-SCP®.
Academic Requirements
No Degree Required
BDA® certifications do not require any specific academic degree or qualification. Eligibility is based entirely on professional competency and experience. Candidates from any educational background are welcome to apply, provided they meet the experience criteria.

Neither the BDA-CP® nor the BDA-SCP® requires a prerequisite certification. Both certifications are independently accessible based on professional experience alone. You do not need to hold BDA-CP® before applying for BDA-SCP®.

Candidates applying for BDA-SCP® with fewer than 5 years of experience, or without senior-level BD experience
Students or recent graduates with no professional BD work experience
Professionals whose experience is entirely outside the scope of business development, sales, partnerships, or growth functions
