The BDA® certification framework is built on the BDA BoCK™ 2026 — a structured body of knowledge covering 14 competency domains. Both BDA-CP® and BDA-SCP® are assessed against the same framework, but at different levels of depth and strategic application.
The key differentiator is experience: BDA-CP® is designed for professionals with 1–4 years in BD, while BDA-SCP® is for senior leaders with 5 or more years. Neither requires a specific academic background — both are experience-based credentials.

The BDA® framework uses professional experience — not academic qualifications — as the primary eligibility criterion. 1–4 years points to BDA-CP®; 5+ years points to BDA-SCP®.

BDA-CP® and BDA-SCP® are both assessed against all 14 BDA BoCK™ competency domains — the difference is the depth: foundational vs. strategic and leadership level.
