Your certification cycle ends on the last day of the month in which you were originally certified. Renewal must be completed before this date.
60

60

Two Pathways
Two Ways to Recertify
BDA offers two flexible pathways to renew your certification — choose the one that best fits your professional development journey.
1
Earn 60 PDCs
Professional Development Credits pathway — the most popular recertification route
Attend BDA-approved training programs and workshops aligned with the BDA BoCK™ framework
Participate in webinars, conferences, or seminars focused on business development
Lead strategic projects within your organisation that demonstrate BD competency growth
Engage in BDA Membership programs and community activities
Complete accredited instructor-led or self-study programs from BDA-PDP™ partners
Each verified training hour = 1 PDC
2
Retake the Exam
Examination pathway — re-validate your knowledge through the BDA certification exam
Retake the certification exam at the same level — BDA-CP™ or BDA-SCP™
Passing the exam grants an additional 3-year certification cycle immediately
Exam covers all 14 competencies in the BDA BoCK™ framework
Failure to pass results in certification revocation — must reapply as a new candidate
Preparation resources available through BDA-ECP™ and BDA-PDP™ partners
Same exam format as initial certification
