We believe that business development must evolve from being seen as a set of disconnected activities sales, partnerships, or market expansion into a strategic discipline that drives innovation, growth, and competitiveness across industries and regions.
Our vision is to provide governments, corporations, and academic institutions with a trusted global benchmark so that their practices are consistently aligned with international best standards. By introducing the Body of Competency & Knowledge BoCK we provide a comprehensive framework that transforms business development into a science with measurable outcomes, enabling professionals and organizations to thrive in an increasingly complex and dynamic marketplace.
The BDA's mission is to be the organization that sets and leads global standards for business development, not only through issuing professional certifications, but also by building an integrated ecosystem that encompasses individuals, institutions, and communities. We provide professionals with the practical knowledge, behavioral, and cognitive skills defined by the BDA BoCK® We provide them with internationally recognized professional certificates such as: Certified Business Development Professional (BDA-CP) and BDA-SCP™ To demonstrate their competence in competitive markets. At the institutional level, we provide accreditations such as AIDP™, AAI™, and COE™, which demonstrate the commitment of academic, consulting, and government entities to applying global standards. We also support companies through Advisory Solutions To develop sustainable growth strategies, we enhance the role of social responsibility through programs such as: CSIS™ and RPDE™ Which highlights the impact of business development on communities.
Our mission extends far beyond education and training we are building a global ecosystem where business development professionals share knowledge, shape markets, and lead transformation responsibly, embedding integrity, innovation, and sustainability into the very core of the profession.
BDA was founded to address a critical global gap: despite the increasing importance of business development in driving organizational success, the field lacked a clear definition, standardized competencies, and credible certification pathways. Professionals and institutions faced fragmented practices and inconsistent outcomes, limiting the potential of business development as a driver of growth. BDA emerged to close this gap by becoming the global authority that sets benchmarks, certifies excellence, and recognizes institutions committed to the highest standards
